Privacy policy

Be Your Own Psychic is run by Narelle, based in Murray Bridge, South Australia. This policy explains what personal information I collect when you visit beyourownpsychic.com.au, buy something or get in touch, and how I look after it. I aim to handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

What I collect

  • Contact and delivery details: your name, email, phone number (if you give it) and your billing and delivery addresses.
  • Order details: what you bought, when, and any notes you add (like a gift message).
  • Payment details: these are handled directly by Shopify Payments. I never see or store your full card number.
  • Messages: anything you send me through the contact form or by email.
  • Website use: like most websites, the shop uses cookies and similar tools to keep your bag working, keep the site secure and show me general visitor numbers.

How I use it

  • To process, pack and post your order, and to send you order and shipping updates.
  • To reply to your messages and help with any order problems.
  • To send you my newsletter, little love notes, but only if you've signed up. You can unsubscribe at any time from the link in any email.
  • To keep the shop secure, prevent fraud and meet my legal and tax obligations.

Who I share it with

I only share what's needed to run the shop, with:

  • Shopify, which hosts the website, checkout and order records;
  • Shopify Payments, to take payment;
  • Australia Post, to deliver your parcel;
  • anyone I'm required to share it with by law.

I don't sell or rent your personal information.

Information stored overseas

Shopify stores data on servers outside Australia, including in Canada and the United States. They have their own privacy and security protections. You can read Shopify's privacy policy to learn more.

Keeping it safe

Your information is stored in Shopify's secure systems, and checkout is encrypted. I keep order records for as long as I need them for tax and legal reasons, then delete them.

Seeing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, or ask me to correct or delete it, by emailing shine@earthynarelle.com.au. I'll reply within 30 days.

Complaints

If you have a concern about your privacy, please email me first and I'll do my best to resolve it. If you're not happy with my response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

I may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
